I have made a survey about showing icons on your desktop and how it should behave when screen changes. I would hope as many replies as possible! You don't need to use KDE Plasma to reply to this survey! It should take around 5 to 10 minutes.

And if you want to read a bit more about the "why", here's mine and Nates blogpost:

Thanks!

I feel bad for not being able to help with the KDE + NetBSD issues but I believe there's enough critical mass for people to make their own smaller community within KDE community to get stuff working, fixing bugs, etc.

I don't have the time as I'm busy enough with Linux stuff but I definitely encourage anyone interested to start organizing this.

So please, go for it! Do the thing! You're very welcome to help out. Would love to see it.

i will stay on lenuks because i still like it and well, i work on stuff that runs on linux. however, i am very curious how peoples adventures in smaller OS' go, and i hope they get more love from enthusiastic people.

more operating systems is always a great thing. i might try netbsd on some of my older devices, see if i can get it to work on ancient netbook for example.

let the cycle of people tinkering with their computers continue :)

Happy birthday @kde !

Glad I am part of this community. Made my life so much better and I smile more now. Thanks for everything.

Here's to 30 more years!

just went to gym and got back and now im eating health post gym thing: rice porridge, protein pudding and cake

I usually don't really find anything I do something I should be proud of because I'm a dumb little lizard but the amount of progress I've managed to do to Union QStyle in a month (well, three weeks, because Akademy) is very pleasing to me.

In both images:

  • On left, Union QStyle about month ago.
  • On right: Union QStyle now.

There are still minor issues but those will get polished. Some of them are just wrong CSS that are way easier to fix now than writing a whole C++ theme.

I wrote a QStyle theme for Union from scratch pretty much (with a lot of help from others in the community) and well. It's been a ride. Not over yet, there's still edge cases to hunt, but for 6.8 release for people to tinker and play with, it should be pretty good.

I hope you all will like tinkering with Union and making crazy themes. I'm looking forward to seeing all of that.

I think I'll allow myself to be a bit proud. This has been one of the most difficult computer things I've ever done, I think.

Life is too short to spend it being mad on we-pretend-being-better-than-twitter (fedi)

I am the founder of KomoDo, the todo.txt app.

Sounds absolutely ridiculous but maybe I should do that since others do too.

"Your honor, Billy here sent a message to a newspaper that says awful things."

"Off with their heads!"

"Your honor, it seems that Billy shared name with other Billy and the Billy we executed was innocent."

And this is why procedures exist to verify claims. This is why potential evidence is not shared in public, to avoid potential fuckups.

I can't believe I need to even share this.

I'm sure someone gets mad at this too.
